Cali Trip Day 2

For our second day we headed down to San Diego. Our first stop was Old Town San Diego. I had never been here before and I think I am good I don't need to go again. It isn't very big and the kids were really bored so I think we lasted all of an hour. We did get the cute picture of all the kids (minus Lucy and Savannah) on the wagon there but that was probably the highlight of our time. After that we headed over to Sea World. We were not really expecting to spend too much time here after the way our kids acted last time we came almost two years ago and we were correct. They were a little more interested this time but not much. We saw a few if the animal exhibits and the Shamu show and the Dolphin show but that was it. The one thing Blake was really excited about was seeing the sharks so we did that first. He really wanted a picture with a shark so that is above. After he did it Grace needed to too so that is to the right.

Next we did the Shamu show. While watching it Grace told me that she wants to be a whale trainer when she grows up. She thought it was pretty cool that they got to swim with them.

Pictures from the show above. After we left there and were headed to our next stop my sweet baby decided to poop all over me. It was very exciting. The most annoying part was the fact that I had changed her about 30 minutes before so I am not sure what was going on there.

After Shamu we went to see the dolphins. It was pretty neat because we saw the show the second to last time they were ever going to do it. They are tearing it all out rebuilding and make up a new show for the dolphins to preform. So if anyone is heading to Sea World there isn't a dolphin show for like a year and a half.

To the right is Blake during the show. Cameron thinks he is total into it. Which he very well could be he didn't move the whole time. I think he looks like he is about to fall asleep.

One of the last things we did was see the sting rays. If you look closely you can see him just breaking the water. The kids wanted to feed them so Cameron got two things of food and then ended up having to do it all himself. I think Blake might have done one piece of food but Grace wouldn't touch the raw fish. Who can blame her. Cameron said if felt pretty cool, they kind of just suck it out of your fingers. I think I'm good! After that we let the kids play in the play area for a minute and then we left. We figured we better head back so they could get some sleep for another fun fulled day.

Silly Boy!

I am going to interrupt our Cali trip for a moment and tell this cute story about my little boy. This week at school he was learning the letter C. For his craft on Thursday he made cookies. Well these were not real cookies. They were made with paper, glue and sprinkles. Yes the sprinkles were real. After school he was so excited to show me his cookies. We got in the car and were driving home and I saw him licking the cookies. I asked him what he was doing and he said "Eating my cookies they are good." I said "But Blake they are not real." He said "yes they are, they are good. Want to try one?" I quickly replied "NO." He continued to lick them all the way home. Once home I took them away, I guess the taste of the glue and paper was masked by the sprinkles. I guess I need to work on teaching him what pretend is!

California Trip

Our big family vacation of the year was spent in southern California doing Disneyland, California Adventure, Sea World, Wild Animal Park and the beach. This trip was all thanks to my in-laws Chris and Woody. a year ago in February Woody retired after 35 years qt Qwest Communications and he decided he wanted to take the whole family on a trip as a celebration. They decided Southern Cali was the best place with all the kids so last week we went. We had so much fun and did lots of great things. Thanks Chris and Woody. I am going to blog the trip in days since I have so many pictures, so this is part one. We all left for Cali on Saturday the 5 and part of the family stopped half way but we decided to drive straight just to get it out of the way. The first night there we just walked over to Downtown Disney and look in the shops. At the Lego store Grace made me take the picture to the left. The next morning while waiting for the other to arrive we headed over to the beach. The kids had a blast. Blake did get taken out by a wave and cried for awhile about going back to the hotel but he got over it and then cried when we said it was time to go.
Lucy was a little trooper and even got a nap in while the others played. I however got a horrible sunburn trying to shade her from the sun. Oh well better me than her!
Playing in the sand. Grace was so proud of herself, she found a shell.

After we got back to the hotel everyone was there so we headed over to Disney. We spent the afternoon there and got to ride a few rides. It was busy but nearly as busy as I thought it would be since it was Labor Day weekend. The first ride we rode was Pirates of the Caribbean. I wish I had taken a picture because we all rode it together and it was one of the few rides we all rode together. After we left there all the kids wanted to go up in Tarzan's Tree house to I go this cute picture minus all the little ones.
Grandma with Grace and Blake waiting to ride Snow White.
These are some of the rides we rode that first night. The bottom right is the Buzz Lightyear ride. This is the first of many rides because all the "big boys" tried their hardest to out shoot each other.

Lula Belle is Three Months Old!

She is growing so quickly I can barely stand it, where did the last three months go?! As you can tell from the title she has a new nickname of choice, for today anyway. I think I very rarely ever just call her Lucy. She is such a sweet good baby! Especially this last week when we were in Cali. I was so afraid she would be such a disaster but she was a little angel. This month she learned to roll from her back to her front. Once on her front she gets really angry because she can't go all the way over. She is getting close but not quiet. She has also discovered that she has a tongue and she chews and plays with constantly, it is really funny to watch.
Grace thought is was so fantastic that she and Lucy were twins.
Chillin' at the beach in Cali.
Such a cute baby!
This is like my favorite dress. I had it for Grace when she was a baby and I think she only wore it once and I was totally sad so Lucy will probably be in it every day.
This is Lucy staring at her hands. I think I talked about this last month when she discovered that she had hands but she hardly ever lets them out of her site. I think she is afraid they will disappear. She is trying very hard to grab things but hasn't figured that out yet.
Playing dress up. Grace did this to her and then made me take a picture. She is a very good sport when it comes to torture from her siblings.
She also started to giggle a little this month.
We had to take her out of her sling when she bathes because she was starting to flip herself out.
I just thought this was a cute picture.

First Day of Preschool!

Blake started preschool today! Is it horrible to say that I was probably more excited than he was. He was really disappointed when he found out he would not be riding the bus like Grace. He did get over that when I reminded him that his best friend Creed would be there. He is only going two days a week this year because I don't think he can even sit that long. I did accidentally sign him up for two different schools(one is for next year) and he would have been going everyday. For a second I thought I might leave it but I think he's not quit ready for that yet. He is in a class of all boys and I am a little concerned for his teacher but hopefully it will be ok. To the left is him and his teacher Mrs. Michelle.Last Friday she had a met the teacher day. This is him after he put his name on the name tree.
He also got to make this caterpillar that he was so proud of. He had to run home and show his other best friend Isa our neighbor. Sometimes we tease him and say she is his girlfriend so when he is "mad to her" he says she is not his girlfriend anymore. That usually lasts all of two minutes.
Getting ready to leave. This is before the no bus thing.
This is at the school and he didn't want his picture taken. Defiantly different from Grace in this area!
After school with Creed.
I got the picture with Michell and the one above because I bribed him with a snow cone. I also brought Creed one because the first day of school is a big deal! We hope he has a good year and we love you lots Blake!
