Pablo the Duck!

So I was pretty much a slacker with my blog this summer and I don't want to go back and blog everything we did but I will do a few things. One of those things was our pet duck Pablo. The Saturday before the 4th of July my mom and I were sitting in my back yard and a mother duck and her 10 babies waddled through. They moved on, but a little later my mom discovered that she had left one of her babies behind. Being the compassionate animal lover that my mom is we quickly became the proud new parents of this baby duck. We found him a box and my parents and the kids bought him some food. Blake was very attentive and moved him back and froth from shade to sun so he was always just right. He hovered over him constantly. My parents were leaving on Tuesday and I really didn't want the responsibility of this duck and it was technically illegal for us to have him so we took him to the DNR. Blake and my mom were super upset. Blake has also asked since if we can go visit him but I have no idea where they took him. I hope they found him a good home!

First Day of School!

Properly title it should say first days of school since they started a week apart, but oh well on formalities. Grace started school two weeks ago and loves it. To the left is her first day of school outfit that she picked, it's so eighties to me but I guess that is what is in style right now. Bring on the acid washed jeans and tight rolling. She loves playing on the playground and doing the monkey bars. This week I got an email from her teacher saying what a wonderful student she is a what a joy she is to have in her class. That makes a mother proud and we are very proud of her!

Missing her two front teeth!

My sweet handsome boy started kindergarten last week. I can't believe he is that old but he for sure needed something new in his life, since he has gotten so bored being home all the time. I don't know how much he is loving it, he gauges if his days are good or bad depending if he got to go to recess, but he does love riding the bus!
On the first day before they headed off a friend in the neighborhood had a pizza party for all the little afternoon kindergarteners. The first picture is some of the boys enjoying lunch. Top right all the kids getting ready to head to their bus stops. Bottom left getting on the bus. Bottom right at school lining up headed to class. Of course I didn't just let him ride the bus the first day, I followed it up there to get some more pictures.
