The Graduates

Last week both Blake and Grace finished up the school year. First we had Blake's graduation on Thursday. He was so cute singing his songs and was VERY dramatic with his actions. Our family favorite from the program was a song about a little turtle named tiny Tim, he is so cute when he sings it. He has learned a lot this year and made some new friends and he absolutely loved going to school and would cry the days he couldn't go. I hope he feels that way for the next 20 years! Above with his teacher Mrs. Michelle. His friend Creed was in his class and will be again next year.

Friday was Grace's program and she also did great. She had a little speaking part and she said it very well. Her teacher also told a little about each student and I learned that she wants to be a marine biologist. She had her post kindergarten test today and passed with flying colors and she is reading so well. We are so proud of her! Above with her teacher Mrs. C.

11 Months

I can't believe that my baby girl only has one month left til her first birthday, I am so sad! This month Lucy has been a little grumpy with finally getting one of her top teeth. I will say she has defiantly been my most irritable teether. I am happy that she is finally getting more teeth in her mouth because she wants to eat everything we are having but she can't really chew it. She pretty much just swallows it whole and she refuses to eat Gerber anymore. We also switched her to milk because she really wouldn't drink her formula any more either and she really likes the milk but it has to be a little warm. The funnest thing that she did this month was sliding in the tub. I wish a had a video but she doesn't do it on command and it is quick so I don't think I can get it. We have a small ledge at the back of her tub and she climbs up the sloping part at the back til she gets to the ledge and then straightens her arms and legs and slides back down on her tummy, it is so funny. She also has starting hiding from us. One night she wouldn't go to sleep so I brought her out to the family room for a little bit. When it was finally time to go back to bed she crawled away and ducked her head so I couldn't see her. She also does it to Cameron in the tub when he goes to get her out. She ducks her head down below the side so he can't find her to get her out. I bad habit Lucy is forming is stealing toys. If one of the other kids has something she wants to crawls up to them and pushes on them and cries til they give it to her. I don't think she will have any trouble defending herself when she is a little bigger. She also blows on food when I put it in front of her and I say hot hot. She soulnds like a snake when she does it so I don't think it is doing any good but it sure is cute! Blake made this tiger mask at school and pretty much wore it for a week straight, in bed and everything(I will post his picture later). She thought it was so great and would steal it off him and try to put it on. Once we put it on her she really didn't like it for long so I had a hard time getting this shot.

I know I have posted one of her in the basket before but is loves it and I thought this one was cute.

Lucy will finally stand behind the hippo and push it walking not crawling. Grace is pretty proud of herself because she got her to do it first. She is getting really good at it and hopefully she will be walking soon so her knees won't be scratched all summer.

When I try to take her picture a lot of the time she comes after my to get the camera and I have to be fast, this was one of those times.

One day Cameron and I found her just sitting in the tub laughing. We are not sure how she got in there but the side is really low so it wouldn't have been to hard. Hopefully she didn't hit her head super hard.

On one of the rare warm days of the last month we went to the park. She loved climbing through all the tunnels in the little kid area. She wasn't so sure about the slide however.

Frances Mae aka Fammy

This last week my grandmother passed away. I was going through my pictures and found a few of her that I felt like posting. I have such great memories of her and my grandfather Jack, they were fantastic grandparents. As a child I loved spending time at their house playing dress up, eating star crunch, playing in the sand box Jack built for us and eating tv dinners on tv trays in front of the television. For the past 10 years she has lived with my mother who has taken care of her as her health deteriorated. She has been an amazing example to me as she has cared for her mother during this time in her life. I do wish that I had been able to see her one last time since the last time was 2 1/2 years ago. I was able to go to the funeral and I am so happy that I did. I hope Fammy knows how much I love her and how much she means to me. Above is a picture I took 3 years ago of my mother, her brother Jim and Fammy. Grace and Fammy in 2004

4 generations taken in 2005.
Blake and Fammy in 2006.
Fammy and Jack and their good friends Vivian and Louis shared a driveway to their homes. As children Erin and I and our cousins Lindsey and Craig loved to go to Vivian's rock in her yard and play. We would play there for hours, mostly pretending it was our house. While we were there for the funeral Craig and I decided to go take some pictures there because who knows when we will make it back. Also as a side note Vivian is my favorite girl name. I have tried to name both of my girls that but Cameron will not come on broad. I really wanted Lucy to be Vivian Mae, oh well.
This was Fammy and Jack's home and where my mother grow up.
